 Pharmacy Tips

Pain relief during pregnancy

During pregnancy, it¡¯s best to avoid taking medications for common pain from sinus or tension headaches, sore throats, etc.

First, try some of these drug-free remedies:

For headaches, try deep breathing or other relaxation techniques. Putting an ice pack on the back of your head may also help.

For sore throats, try mixing 1/2 teaspoon of salt into warm water, and then gargle with it.

Eating regularly, getting enough sleep and drinking plenty of fluids can also help relieve painful symptoms.

If you still feel miserable, ask your doctor if it¡¯s safe to take acetaminophen. Some throat lozenges may also be safe, but be sure to ask your doctor. If you¡¯d like to try any other over-the-counter medication, first ask your doctor
